Why It Matters
An aircraft is a valuable asset — but it can also carry invisible baggage. Liens, outdated registrations, unrecorded ownership changes, or improperly filed documents can all become costly issues down the line. Lenders may refuse to fund a deal, or worse — a title issue may surface after you’ve already closed.
Our searches help ensure clean title, provide transparency, and reduce the risk of delays or disputes in your transaction.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's included in a title and lien search?
Our standard search includes a review of the FAA title chain, current ownership, all recorded liens or encumbrances, and copies of relevant filings. We also check for operating agreements or documents that may affect ownership rights.
Can you tell me if an aircraft is free of debt or loans?
We can identify if there are any recorded liens, security agreements, or mortgages on file with the FAA. However, not all debts are publicly recorded — so it's best to confirm financial status directly with the seller or through legal counsel.
How long does a search take?
Most searches are completed within 1–2 business days. Rush processing may be available depending on FAA system status and our current volume.
Do you search international databases too?
Our standard search covers FAA records only. For aircraft registered or operated internationally, we may be able to refer you to additional resources or coordinate as part of a broader service package.
Do you provide title insurance or escrow services?
No. We are not a title insurance provider or escrow agent. Our role is administrative — we help you gather and interpret FAA-recorded data, but we do not act as a legal or financial intermediary.
